If you've ever played the popular card game "Skip-Bo" you've played a game that was invented right here in Brownfield.
Back in 1967, Brownfield resident Hazel Skip Bowman created the game while spending time with her sick husband, who was in the hospital.
At one point, the headquarters for the game was housed in Brownfield - and the building still sits in the town square.
Mattel purchased the game back in 1980, making it popular in households across America.
