Provided by Special Olympics Texas

LUBBOCK – A few of Lubbock's finest will exchange their handcuffs for aprons on July 25. They'll spend the evening serving up support at the local Texas Roadhouse at the Tip A Cop event. During the tasty fundraiser, Law Enforcement Torch Run members will work the dinner shift for tips to later donate to Special Olympics Texas athletes.

Officers will greet and serve patrons and assist wait staff from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. tomorrow, while collecting donations to support the movement. Patrons are encouraged to purchase a Torch Run t-shirt after they dine and donate; proceeds will benefit SOTX athletes in the South Plains area.
