American Bank of Commerce thriving as Wolfforth grows

WOLFFORTH, TX (KCBD) - It started out as a small business to serve the Wolfforth community back in 1962. Today, the American Bank of Commerce is thriving.

Last year the bank celebrated its 50th birthday.

Within that half-century, the original location here in Wolfforth has expanded some 9,000 feet.

Nearly every inch of the building has been remodeled, and it's the first building in Wolfforth to have an elevator installed.

Branch Manager Todd Pope says the bank doesn't just look at these changes as a renovation.

"We look at it as an investment for our customers," Pope said. "We look at it as an investment for the city of Wolfforth, and most of all, we look at it as an investment to the future of American Bank of Commerce."

The bank has grown so much, its branches now span almost 900 square miles.

It also has almost $700 million in assets.

There are 14 locations ranging from Austin to North Texas, and even Colorado.
