Adams making a name for himself, Texas Tech in Deaflympics

Texas Tech's Luke Adams netted 11 points as Team USA rolled to a 101-73 win over Argentina in the men's basketball quarterfinals on Thursday at Universiada Hall at the 22nd Deaflympics.

Adams, a junior guard from Big Spring, Texas, connected on four of seven shots from the field, while also recording four steals and three rebounds in 18 minutes of play.

Team USA, the No. 1 seed, will advance to face Venezuela, who held of Greece, 78-74. The two will meet on Friday at 6 a.m. at Universiada Hall.

The Americans are in search of their 15th straight gold medal, dating back to 1957 when Team USA won its first in Milan.
