Lubbock Sheriff's Office
A Lubbock man will spend 23 years in prison. On Tuesday morning, Cody Breshers pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. The first crime comes with a 15 year sentence and the second is 8 years. He must serve half of those sentences before he is eligible for parole.
In July 2003, Breshers was driving drunk, going the wrong way on East Loop 289 when he hit another vehicle on 50th street. 17-year-old Andrew Trevino was killed. His 16-year-old cousin Matthew Escalon was injured.
