LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The woman wanted for aggravated assault after almost running down a motorcycle officer on Friday morning has turned herself in.

Police say Texas Tech student Victoria Duong, 19, made a U-turn and accelerated directly towards a motorcycle officer as he was trying to make a traffic stop at 6600 Brentwood on Friday morning.

They say the officer was trying to stop a green Toyota for speeding. The officer followed the car to this dead end street where he assumed it would be turning in to a driveway.

Instead, the officer had to make an emergency turn as the Toyota made a U-turn and headed straight for him.

The police statement says the vehicle missed him by inches.

Duong turned herself in to the Lubbock County Detention Center on Monday.
