Your genes may be the reason you can't stand the smell of certain foods.
Researchers in New Zealand tested 200 adults for their sense of smell and took a blood sample to analyze their genetic makeup.
They found certain gene mutations led to an increased sensitivity to certain odors, including malt, or beer, apple, blue cheese and violets.
Experts say this proves there is a genetic component to a person's own unique sense of smell.
