UBS Calls On All Blood Donors To Beat Blood Shortage

An urgent need for blood in Lubbock has become even more critical on Wednesday.

United Blood Services tells NewsChannel 11 they currently have no "O-" or "B-" blood on hand, despite the recent Labor of Love Blood Drive. "There were very few "O-" donors in the group of "a+", "a-", "O-" didn't show up," says Johnna Pevey with United Blood Services.

You can donate at UBS at 48th and University. The center is closed Wednesday, but is open Thursday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and 9 to 3 Friday and Saturday.

Walk-in's are welcome, but you can also make an appointment by calling (806) 741-1752.
