Candi Whitaker era of women's basketball begins Nov. 10

The Candi Whitaker era officially tips off at 7 p.m. CT on Nov. 10 against UT-Pan American as Texas Tech and the Big 12 Conference released the 2013-14 women's basketball schedules on Wednesday.

The Lady Raiders will host one home exhibition game on Nov. 4 against Angelo State followed by four home games to start the non-conference portion of the season. Tech will face New Mexico (Nov. 13), Arizona State (Nov. 17) and Grambling State (Nov. 23) at United Spirit Arena.
The women's basketball team then heads to Brooklyn, N.Y., over Thanksgiving week to play in the inaugural Barclay's Center Women's Invitational. The Lady Raiders will face off against Michigan on Nov. 29 at the Barclay's Center and then will take on either LSU or Rutgers on Nov. 30.

Tech returns home for a meeting with Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Dec. 4 before heading West to Arizona on Dec. 15 for its only true road game of the non-conference season. Tech plays host to Jacksonville, Florida Atlantic and Abilene Christian in its annual Basketball Travelers Invitational on Dec. 20-22 at the Spirit Arena.

The Big 12 Conference season begins Jan. 2 against Oklahoma in Lubbock followed by a home bout with TCU on Jan. 5. Tech then heads out for two-straight road games against Iowa State (Jan. 8) and Kansas (Jan. 11) before coming back home to take on Kansas State on Jan. 14.
The Lady Raiders play six of its first 10 conference games at home but will play five of its final eight on the road including back to back dates at Texas (Feb. 5) and TCU (Feb. 8). Tech's final home game will be vs. Texas on March 1 and then it will end the season in Norman against the Sooners on March 3.

The Big 12 Championship will be March 7-10 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
