A reserve deputy for Hockley County could soon be facing charges after a weekend accident.

According to the police report, on Sunday, August 4, the deputy was driving southeast on Hwy. 7 which is north of College Station.

Police say he crossed over the roadway and struck the northwest guardrail. Then they say he crossed back over and struck the southeast guardrail, causing his car to spinout and then rollover.

During the investigation, police say the reserve deputy admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and showed signs of intoxication.

Police say he was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries he received during the accident.

A blood sample was taken and the deputy could be facing charges depending on the results.
