City Council approves changes to school zones

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The city council approved changes to several school zones in Lubbock Thursday night.

Crews will install a flashing school zone sign at Parkway Drive and East 2nd for the new Alderson Elementary campus.

The school zone at MLK Boulevard south of Erskine near Estacado High School will see its speed limit lowered from 30 to 20 miles per hour.

And due to consolidation and rebuilding efforts, school zones will close near Bozeman, Isles, and the former Murfee Elementary campus.
