LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Residents across the South Plains had an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of some American heroes and honor our veterans on Sunday.

Silent Wings Museum held an event called Spirit of '45 Day.

It was a day to recognize the Greatest Generation and celebrate the bravery of our veterans.

Chaplain Rod Manning said, "We wouldn't have had Vietnam or North Korea had it not been for those folks serving in World War 2. No telling where our country would have been had it not been for the great sacrifices made from those folks. We appreciate every one of them."

The event wrapped up at 5 p.m.
