Lubbock City Council Members Fail To Vote On Improvements At Lake Alan Henry

A $20 million improvement plan for Lake Alan Henry failed at Thursday's City Council meeting.

Councilman Gary Boren says he felt that putting $17 to $20 million of taxpayer money in the lake would be a bad investment as long as there are lawsuits against the city. Thursday, since there was a lack of a motion, all bids failed and that means no recreational enhancements to the lake.

Now, Councilman Boren says the council is ready to go to court to enforce its regulations. He says that land developers and owners have disregarded a 1986 easement agreement that does not allow anyone to build within 300 feet of the water.
