LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

District 3 Councilman Todd Klein has proposed a "rate stabilization model" to make electric utility rates more affordable and called for the creation of a Citizen Task Force that will focus on customer communication and energy assistance for people on low or fixed incomes.

Here's the complete statement that Councilman Klein posted to his Facebook on Wednesday:

I have previously called for a rate stabilization model, and I am doing so again today. I firmly believe we need to have a sustainable rate model which incorporates stability and affordability.

I am requesting that the LP&L Board form a Citizen Task Force, which would be primarily comprised of private citizens not currently serving on the board. This task forces needs to focus on ideas for energy assistance for those on fixed or low incomes as well as how to improved customer communications.
