Gordon Harris files petition to recall Councilman Floyd Price

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A recall petition has been filed against District 2 City Councilman Floyd Price.

On Thursday, Gordon Harris, the same man who tried to have the councilman recalled earlier this year, filed a petition with the city secretary's office.

His previous attempt failed because affidavits required by the city charter were not filed with the petition.

On Thursday, Harris submitted his petition again, this time with 660 signatures. The Office of the City Secretary still needs to verify the petition and declare it valid.

Harris says he still feels that his district needs better representation.

"We don't have no businesses or any jobs or anything in our community. We don't even have a decent restaurant," Harris said.

If Price is removed, Harris says he would run for the position.
