TxDOT launches 'Drink. Drive. Go To Jail' campaign

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Labor Day is just a few weeks away. But before the holiday gets here, TxDOT is reminding everyone to drive safe.

On Thursday, they kicked off their 'Drink. Drive. Go To Jail' campaign as part of a national effort to save lives and crack down on impaired driving.

During the campaign, they will bring a simulated jail cell to select colleges here in Texas to give visitors a taste of the consequences of drunk driving.

They'll be at Texas Tech Wednesday, Aug. 21, from noon until 4 p.m.

The campaign ends on Sept. 2.
