LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

An 83-year-old woman was seriously injured just before noon on Monday when her truck collided with a train in the 6000 block of Southeast Drive.

Police say Neva Sue Stokes was driving her 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 west toward the tracks as the train was backing up.

The flagman had stopped traffic and red crossing lights were flashing, but police say the truck continued, disregarding the lights and striking the train.

Stokes was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
