LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock man is recovering at UMC after troopers say he was hurt in a rollover accident and stranded for more than two hours.

It happened on County Road 2540 near FM 41 east of the interstate.

A farmer says he was checking his fields just before 8 a.m. when he saw 52-year-old Ira Dean Huffstuller Jr. lying on the ground near his vehicle.

Huffstuller was alert and responsive when emergency crews arrived,

DPS troopers say he lost control and rolled his truck around 5 a.m. after running into some dirt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Corporal John Gonzalez with the Texas Department of Public Safety said, "Because of heavy rainfall recently, especially on dirt roads, they can cause you to overturn."

Huffstuller was careflighted to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers are still investigating the accident.
