The mild temperatures lately are a welcome sight to most of us, but the moist air that comes with that is especially pleasing to mosquitoes.
And if you've been outside lately, you may notice those pesky bugs are out in full force.
The recent rainfall has caused a big increase in the mosquito population, and complaints are up in the city and throughout the county.
Vector Control says it's spraying in the areas with the highest number of complaints, or where they are finding the most mosquitoes in their traps.
In the meantime, workers say there are a few things you can do at home to help protect you and your loved ones.
"Drain standing water, wear insect-repellant containing DEET, wear long sleeves and pants, avoid being out during thee hours of dusk and dawn".
Vector Control says if you don't see them out on the streets spraying, that's because workers usually wait until around 10 o'clock at night to do that, when the wind is calm.
