Pedestrian struck by car on Friday night

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured just before midnight Friday.

Police say a driver in a 2002 Volvo VXC was headed north on 3100 Avenue L when the pedestrian crossed in front of them, failing to yield right of way.

The pedestrian, who was not at an intersection or crosswalk, was seriously injured and taken to UMC.

The pedestrian has not been identified as of Saturday evening. We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
