Slaton is Home to Superintendent of the Year

An area school district, now employs the state superintendent of the year.

The Texas Association of School Boards has named Slaton ISD Superintendent, Mike Harris "Superintendent of the Year."

Harris receives a $5,000 award for professional development and a ring from Balfour.

Harris serves 1,200 students in Slaton schools. The committee cites his innovation to initiate programs and provide multiple career options for all students.
