It was a packed house at the Lubbock Civic Center around lunchtime Thursday as the United Way held their annual campaign kick-off luncheon.
About 750 people filled the banquet hall for the event.
Money raised will go towards issues like early childhood learning and disaster relief here in Lubbock.
Organizers say this year's goal is to raise more than $5 million. That's the largest goal the United Way has ever set, but it looks like the organization is off to a good start.
Area realtors started to campaign early and have already raised nearly $32,000.
