Lubbock Hooters at South Loop 289 & Slide Now Open

The doors of one of the most popular restaurant chains in America are now open in the Hub City.

After more than 3 months of construction, the highly anticipated Hooters restaurant opened its doors late this morning and received a large crowd for both dinner and lunch times. Customers stood in line for at least an hour before being seated.

There are a total of 80 waitresses on staff and about 30 per shift. The staff says they're excited about bringing hooters to Lubbock. "We've trained for the last two weeks, we have corporate trainers in town. We've got a full staff, ready to go, we're ready for business," says Manager Mark Burckel.

At Hooters, customers will find limited parking. Tuesday, many customers parked next door at Central Plaza, the center with Old Navy and Shoe Carnival. So if you plan to visit the stores in that area, be aware of the parking situation.
