The fall semester is underway at Texas Tech University and head baseball coach Tim Tadlock announced his team's fall roster on Wednesday with 39 student-athletes, including 20 returning players and 19 newcomers to the Red Raider program.
Tech's roster will look very familiar to the Red Raider faithful with every starting position player returning along with six pitchers who threw at least 25 innings and eight pitchers that were used in a starting role a year ago.
Tadlock and his coaching staff welcome a nationally-ranked recruiting class (No. 24 – Perfect Game) that includes eight position players and 11 pitchers (7 RHP, 4 LHP). The Red Raiders have 10 transfers that joined the program along with nine student-athletes that recently completed their high school careers.
Tadlock and the Red Raiders will begin the fall with small group activities while official team practices are scheduled to start Friday, Sept. 13 at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
The fall season will conclude the final week of October with the annual Red & Black Series. Additional information on the Red & Black Series will be announced at a later time.
The 39-player roster will be competing for 35 roster spots which will form the 2014 Texas Tech Red Raiders roster.
