Councilmember Victor Hernandez, District 1, has been asked by Texas Municipal League (TML) President John Monaco to serve on the 2013 TML Resolutions Committee.

Councilmember Hernandez, who currently serves on the TML Board of Directors, accepted President Monaco's request.

Councilmember Hernandez said, "TML plays an important role in helping Texas cities better serve their constituents. It is an honor to be asked to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with other representatives from across the state in addressing important issues that affect Texas municipalities."

Established in 1913, TML's mission is to serve the needs and to advocate for the interests of cities and city officials throughout Texas. The TML Resolutions Committee is a key component of the organization's policy development process, and the Committee helps direct the organization's position on a wide range of important municipal issues. The Resolution Committee's decisions have significant implications for all Texas cities.

The Committee will meet during the TML Annual Conference at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, at the Austin Convention Center.
