City vehicle involved in fatal accident at 81st and Indiana

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Police say a motorcycle rider has died after a city waste truck collided with him at 81st and Indiana Avenue on Friday. 

Police say the motorcyclist, Jared Trengove, 18, was traveling north on Indiana while the City of Lubbock truck was traveling south. The truck collided with the motorcyclist while attempting to turn onto 81st Street.

Police say Trengove was transported to UMC by Lubbock EMS where he was pronounced dead.

The City of Lubbock employee was not injured. 

The accident report does not indicate whether any citations were issued at the scene. 

The Lubbock Police Department says it will be closing down Indiana Avenue on Sunday, Sept. 8th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to continue their investigation.
