6th Annual Red Cross Champions Breakfast honors local heroes

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The 6th Annual Red Cross Champions Breakfast was held at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Aerocare hanger.

This event honors the heroism of men and women across the South Plains following the 9/11 attacks.

Organizers of the event say this is a time to remember those who gave it all during 9/11 and to honor the people in the community who do great things every day.

Six everyday heroes in the area were honored as champions with awards recognizing them for the different heroic acts they have done.
