89-year-old man dies after being struck by car

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

An 89-year-old man has died after being struck by a car late Thursday night.

Police say 89-year-old John Hood was walking southbound across 4th Street at Elkhart Avenue when he failed to yield right of way to traffic and was struck by a driver in a 2012 Dodge Avenger.

Hood was pronounced dead at UMC. The driver of the Avenger was transported with minor injuries.
