Apple Butter Festival runs through Sunday

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Saturday kicks off this year's Apple Butter Festival at Apple Country Orchards in Idalou.

The festival started at 10 a.m. and will go until 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The day's events include apple picking in the orchard, hayrides, live music, great food, craft booths, a petting zoo and much more. There will be a benefit lunch offered all day for $5, including an apple turnovers and ice cream dessert for $3. All benefit proceeds will go to Meals on Wheels, the Charities of Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary and Apple Country Orchards.

Admission is $3 for adults and kids, but children under 5 are free.

The orchard is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
