New Information In Hockley County Fatal Accident

A Levelland woman is in satisfactory condition after an accident Thursday night that killed her son.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, DPS Troopers say the driver of a pickup failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersections of Farm to Market Roads 1585 and 168 in Hockley County.

The pickup was broadsided by an SUV at the intersection. The driver of the truck, 48-year-old Zenon Cano, and his father, 83-year-old Manual Cano, were killed on impact.

6-year-old Devon Searsey also died. He was a passenger in the front seat of the SUV. Troopers say he was not wearing his seat belt properly.

Devon's mother, Lanette, was taken to Covenant Medical Center.
