Commemorative Air Force moving headquarters from West Texas

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Commemorative Air Force is leaving West Texas.

The non-profit organization is dedicated to preserving the history of American military aviation.

They've been based in Midland since 1991, but recently announced plans to move their headquarters.

They're considering locations in the Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio areas.

The group keeps several aircraft on display at the air power museum in Midland.

They plan to keep the museum open, but will also build a national airbase at their new home.

Members of the CAF will vote on the relocation next month.
