In front of a new Jones AT&T Stadium record crowd of 60,997, the No. 25 Red Raiders moved to 4-0 with a 33-7 win over Texas State.
Davis Webb came in for Baker Mayfield and threw two second half touchdowns to Eric Ward and Bradley Marquez to put the game away. Webb finished 19-43 for 310 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Tech offense struggled at times, but still racked up 552 yards of total offense.
Kicker Ryan Bustin tied a school record with four field goals in the game.
The Red Raider defense delivered again with another solid first half shutout, allowing the Bobcats just four first downs and 85 yards of offense.
The defense caused three turnovers, including Will Smith returning a fumble nine yards for the first touchdown of the game.
Tech wore white jerseys for the first time in the modern era as part of the stadium-wide whiteout for the annual Celebrate Cotton game.
The 4-0 Red Raiders now enter their bye week and will next begin the gauntlet of Big 12 games, visiting Kansas on October 5th.
