A Coronado High School junior is participating in a unique trip.

Chase Green left Tuesday to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington DC. The event focuses on national security.

Green says he was invited to attend after expressing an interest in a career in national security. Only 400 students from across the country are invited to attend each session.

While in Washington, he'll tour the Pentagon and other facilities.

"I'm really looking forward to Langley, where the CIA headquarters are located. I hope to meet a bunch of people and see how they run things there," Green said.

While in Washington, Green will also take part in a simulated exercise with other students attending the forum.

He is scheduled to return to Lubbock on Sunday.
