LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with a robbery and vehicle burglary that happened at 1:42 a.m. Thursday morning at 900 Ave U.

Police say the suspect, Mathew Robles, 26, of Ft. Morgan, Colorado demanded a ride home from his victim, and when the victim refused, Robles threatened the victim with a knife and demanded the keys to the victim's vehicle. The victim fled and Robles left the area on foot.

Police say the suspect was later observed pulling car door handles and entering several different vehicles at 2210 Glenna Goodacre.

An officer with a K-9 eventually located the suspect and took him into custody.

Officers recovered the stolen property from Robles.
