Lubbock man charged with impersonating police officer

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police have charged Michael Brunson, 23, with impersonating a public servant, a third-degree felony.

The police report says Brunson pretended to be a police officer and coerced another man into giving him money.

Brunson was arrested on Wednesday.

Police want to remind the public that genuine law enforcement agents will always be able to display proper identification. If you're confronted by an individual claiming to be a police officer who is unwilling or unable provide identification, please contact the Lubbock Police Department.
