Human chain to honor Kenya mall shooting victims

Posted: Updated:

A human chain was formed outside the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, today to show solidarity for the victims of last week's attack.

Hundreds gathered to hold hands, pray and have a minute of silence in memory of the victims. The gathering was organized by the Asian Muslim community in Nairobi.

Salim Lone, a member of the Asian Muslim community, said they were one of the many people in the mall when the shooting occurred.

"I'm a Muslim, and before that I'm a Kenyan," Lone said. "I was there, I was stuck in Westgate. I was there with my kids."

Candles and flowers were left to honor the victims of the deadly attack.
