On Saturday, 7-13-13, at approximately 11:52 AM, the Seminole Police Department was called to 601 SW. Avenue B, the Primary School, in reference to a burglary and vandalism of the school. Numerous items were taken including iPads and other electronics. The suspects also smashed windows to the offices, broke water pipes and sprayed fire extinguishers throughout the school. They also spray painted on some walls and on equipment. The items taken were valued at approximately $14,374.00. Damage to the school is estimated at $15,000.00
On 7-15-13, the investigation led to the identity of the suspects. The suspects were contacted and the Department recovered most of the iPads and other electronic equipment that was taken. During the investigation it was found that the school had been broken into twice. The first time was just two of the suspects where some items were taken, but no vandalism occurred. The second time, one of the previous suspects and two new suspects entered, stole the remainder of the iPads and caused the extensive damage to the school.
