Since October is breast cancer awareness month, how about something new in the fashion world that is taking the typical itchy wig to a new level?
Designed with chemotherapy patients in mind, a new product called "hip hats with hair" provides an option for breast cancer patients looking for something to hide their hair loss with some scalp sensitivity.
"The hair is attached to a thin fabric which is coolmax fabric. It's a sports wickaway fabric and nothing touches your head except for the soft fabric," says Christine Heinen who is with "hip hats with hair".
Christine was a cancer center volunteer who wanted to develop something for women to wear in warm climates. Using a hybrid blend of human hair and high temperature synthetic hair, "hip hats with hair" can actually be styled with a blow dryer, but is durable enough for swimming too.
Women can even send in their real hair, before losing it to chemo, to get a better match.
The website is simple... Just go to hiphatswithhair.com.
