57,367 turn out for Texas Tech Homecoming

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Texas Tech University's school spirit was amplified at Saturday's game against Big 12 Conference rival, Iowa State University.

The win not only makes Texas Tech bowl-eligible and keeps them undefeated, but it is also a win for this year's homecoming game.

"I mean, its Tech football, come on," said one Red Raider fan.

The 11 a.m. kick-off time did not stop fans from coming out to support their team.

"We had to wake up and paint up at 8 o'clock," said a student with a giant double-T painted across his chest.

Total attendance for the day tallied at 57,367 people.

The game's half-time performance was the icing on the cake for the week's homecoming festivities. It began with the Goin' Band from Raiderland and ended with the crowning of the 2013-2014 Homecoming king and queen, Scott Stracener and Jill Berger.

Texas Tech University beat Iowa State 42-35.
