Lubbock Meals on Wheels in need of volunteers

Lubbock Meals on Wheels is a non-profit agency dedicated to preparing and delivering hot, nutritious meals to the homebound, elderly, or disabled in our community.

Due to a recent increase in the number of people requesting Lubbock Meals on Wheels' service, new routes must be added to accommodate this growing need. However, we do not currently have enough volunteers to deliver these routes so we are asking the community for help to fill these new volunteer spots. It only takes about an hour to deliver the meals and volunteers can deliver as often or as little as they are available. All volunteers must attend a one-hour orientation and complete a background check. The new routes will be added in the next two weeks if enough volunteers can be recruited. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can call our office at 806-792-7971 to sign up for the next training session.
