Police: Intruder stabbed in back, victim beaten with baseball bat

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock Police responded to a civil disturbance at 202 52nd Street on Monday, Oct. 14, at 4:32 p.m.

Police say Stoney Mungia, 20, Leanna Maldonado, 23, and one other subject attempted to enter the home and assault the residents over an incident that occurred the previous day. 

Police say the victims engaged the intruders as they entered the home and pushed the intruders outside. 

After one intruder was stabbed in the back while striking the victims with a bat, the intruders fled in a vehicle. 

The intruders were identified and taken into custody by police at 3400 Ave Q.

Police say Mungia and Maldonado were both arrested for Felony 1 Burglary and Felony 1 engaging in organized crime.
