Have you ever heard someone say: "I don't drink much coffee, maybe just a cup a day."
Turns out that one cup a day is enough to cause an addiction. That's according to researchers at John Hopkins University, after reviewing 170 years of studies on caffeine. They determined that even one cup a day coffee drinkers can suffer withdrawal if they don't get their daily caffeine fix.
Researchers found that 50% of those studied got headaches when their caffeine was taken away and 13% were sick enough to lose time at work. Symptoms include headache, fatigue, and trouble concentrating. The scientists are pushing for caffeine addiction to be included in the diagnostic manual of mental disorders.
