If you're not registered to vote and you want to cast a ballot in the November election, you need to register by Monday.
The Lubbock County Elections Office has hired six temporary employees to assist with voter registration and the upcoming election. Elections Administrator Dorothy Kennedy says they've seen a steady stream of new voters all month.
"We've entered 6,000 new people this month alone and the girls, we've all been working twelve to fifteen hour days and on the weekends," said Kennedy.
Again, the deadline to register is Monday at 5pm. You can either drop your card off at the Office of Elections, 1308 Avenue G. You can also mail it in, but the card will only be valid if it's postmarked by October 4th.
