Why less sleep could mean a higher risk of alzheimers

Preliminary research suggests poor sleep may be linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.

A Johns Hopkins study of the elderly, found that those who slept less, had more build-up of the brain plaque associated with Alzheimer's disease.

But, more study is needed to see if improving sleep patterns could help slow or prevent the progression of memory loss.
