Computers from Scratch

The Texas Tech University College of Engineering is building a whole new future. They start with hundreds of parts and within hours build 60 computers from the ground up!

Tech students and instructors are at the Science Spectrum this weekend working with kids from the Youth Corps as well as their families. The computers were put together Saturday, and on Sunday, they will be loaded with software before the kids can take home their new creations.

The rest of the month the kids will learn how to use the technology to relate to their family, school work, and community.
