Tech stays in Top 15 after loss

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Texas Tech's comeback bid fell short in Norman on Saturday night as the Red Raiders lost for the first time this season, 38-30, to the Oklahoma Sooners.

The loss drops Texas Tech from the Top Ten, but the gritty performance still impressed the coaches and press enough to keep the Red Raiders in the Top 15.

Tech dropped six spots from No. 9 to No. 15 in the Coaches Poll and five spots from No. 10 to No. 15 in the Associated Press Poll.

Texas Tech was No. 10 in the initial BCS Poll that was released last week, and fans will see where they fall this week when the computer numbers are released Sunday evening.
