Texas House Speaker Joe Straus and Representative John Frullo will hold a press conference Tuesday, Oct. 29, to discuss the importance of supporting Proposition 6 on the Nov. 5 ballot.

The press conference will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Hall of Nations in the Texas Tech University International Cultural Center at 601 Indiana Avenue.

Proposition 6 would constitutionally dedicate funding for water and conservation projects across the state. Seeing the strain that rapid population growth and severe drought have put on the state's water supply, the Texas House made water a top priority in the 2013 legislative session. An overwhelming, bipartisan majority of legislators voted to put Proposition 6 on the ballot in order to secure the long-term water supply needed for continued economic growth.
