Overnight rain could make for a rough night in Raiderville

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The elements could make it a rough night for Raiderville residents, but fortunately, the people of Raiderville have a long relationship with the threat of bad weather.

It seems as though Mother Nature keeps watch just to test the endurance of faithful fans - and just like an old friend, it could come back for an overnight visit.

Since the beginning of the Raiderville era, in 2006, the residents have faced rain, cold temperatures and wind.

Fans will remember 2008, not only because that was the year they hosted the No. 4 Longhorns, but also for hosting the staff and crew of ESPN's College Gameday Live.

Some very cold temps threatened residents during that run of Raiderville, but they were determined to keep on.

In 2009, construction caused the camp to be relocated from right outside the gate to 200 yards away.

The only plus? Moving from concrete to the nice lush grass near the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.
