On Thursday, Oct. 31, Lubbock Cooper employees will participate in Trick or Treasure, a food drive benefiting South Plains Food Bank. All LCISD employees will be permitted to dress in costume for the day in exchange for five canned food items to be donated to SPFB. Many campuses have chosen a school-wide or grade-level-wide theme for their costumes.

District administrators, including Superintendent Pat Henderson, Assistant Superintendent Macy Satterwhite, Chief Financial Officer Betsy Taylor, and Public Information Officer Jo Ellen Henderson, will be "trick or treating" (in full costume) at each campus throughout the day to take a count of the number of cans collected and the percentage of participation at each campus. They will visit various classrooms at each campus to thank employees for their participation and greet/entertain students.

This is Lubbock Cooper's first year to host Trick or Treasure. Whataburger is partnering with LCISD to donate coupons to all employees who participate in the food drive.

The drive was able to raise 4,307 cans and $550 for South Plains Food Bank by the end of the day on Thursday.
