LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Billed as a Big 12 elimination game, the Red Raiders suffer their second Big 12 loss of the season.

During the week, Kliff Kingbury put up the number 98 in the Red Raiders locker room hoping to instill some pride as Tech had lost to the Cowboys 66-6 and 59-21 the last two years. However, Oklahoma State jumped out early on Tech to take a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Texas Tech had three costly turnovers, two Davis Webb interceptions and a fumble by Jace Amaro. Webb finished up 45 of 71 for 425 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Oklahoma State had a balanced attack rushing for 288 yards and passing for 211.

Texas Tech rallied back as Davis Webb threw a 38-yard touchdown to Eric Ward, Pete Robertson had a 10-yard interception for a touchdown and Kenny Williams' 2-yard TD run cut the lead to 28-24 at the half..

In the second half, Oklahoma State stretched the lead on two touchdown runs by Quarterback Clint Cheif, including a 67-yard touchdown run..

Jace Amaro had 14 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown as Tech never quit but couldn't overcome the Cowboys.

Now 7-2 Texas Tech will host Senior Day next Saturday at 11 a.m. against Kansas State. If you have questions for Kliff Kingsbury, post them on KCBD's Facebook page.
